This unit introduces learners to the role of branding and promotion within modern businesses. Students explore how businesses create strong brands, use promotional methods effectively and communicate with target audiences in competitive markets.
Learners investigate the importance of branding in influencing customer perceptions, building loyalty and helping businesses differentiate themselves from competitors. The unit also examines how businesses use the promotional mix to support marketing objectives, attract customers and increase sales.
Throughout the unit, students analyse real business brands and explore how promotional activities are designed to appeal to different target markets. They develop an understanding of advertising, sales promotion, sponsorship, public relations, direct marketing and digital promotion, considering both the advantages and limitations of different approaches.
Students then apply their knowledge by developing and promoting their own brand for a business scenario, using market research, branding techniques and promotional planning to justify decisions and communicate effectively with customers.
